Many immortalized legends do not get to live to tell their own stories on film, but Madonna will express herself through the music biopic treatment. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Queen of Pop will co-write with “Juno” director Diablo Cody and direct her own biopic. While music biopics typically follow a formula that include the drama behind the music and instead of stressing out on who’s going to play the pop queen, we are solely focusing on SOME of Madonna’s iconic visual art and performances.
Now there are so many other moments in her career to include in this listicle. These other moments include how she helped reshape pop music and culture, served as a blueprint for subsequent generations of female pop stars, pushed the envelope with her sexuality and tackling taboo subject matters in her music, became revered as a feminist icon and gay icon, reinvented herself with every era and participated in pioneering music videos throughout the boom of the MTV era in the ’80s and ’90s (heck in the aughts up until today too).
